Terms and Conditions
1) Website Usage & Products:
All of the Dresses, Suits, Accessories, etc. we sell at FormalDressShops.com are brand new; we don’t carry used, damaged, or sampled products, of any kind, what-so-ever on our website. All items are examined before being shipped out in order to ensure you receive a complete product of high quality that is free of flaws and/or defects.
a. Please note that due to different computer screens, dimensions & resolutions, some colors might slightly look different than they actually are.
b. Not all dresses / suits come readily as a “perfect fit”, even if you buy it in a store, most need alterations for that “perfect fit.” Please see Section 2.
We strive to provide you with excellent client service, so please contact us if anything arises, we are here for you! Our operational hours are 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. PST Monday through Friday.
2) Measuring Instructions for Dresses:
Please make sure that you have measured yourself & are picking the right size before purchasing your dress, costume, suit, etc. Please follow the size chart listed on the product page before ordering your size & measure yourself in inches. If you are in between sizes or unsure of the fit, choose a size up, as it is easier for your seamstress to take in, rather than out.

a. Bust: Not the same as a bra size. Measure around the fullest part of your bust and back, pull snugly. Don’t forget to compensate for bras/undergarments you may intend on wearing under the dress.
b. Waist: Measure around the smallest part of your waistline, usually 2” above your belly button.
c. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, usually 8” below your belly button.

3) Returns / Exchanges:
We will accept returns or exchanges on all items starting with sku # FDS within 30 days from the day the item was received. This is a strict policy, any return or exchange after 30 days will be refused.
In case of a return, we will refund the amount paid - minus a restocking fee & minus the original shipping cost (even if purchased as "free shipping"). Client is also responsible for return shipping cost.
As a courtesy, if you decide to do an exchange we will not charge the restocking fee. Buyer pays for shipping both ways (we cannot give free shipping twice on the same transaction; it is still a cost that comes out of our pocket). Please make sure your order the right size, color, etc. before paying.
For items up to $99.99 there is a 20% restocking fee on returns. On items from $100 to $199.99 there is a 16% restocking fee on returns. On items from $200 to $299.99 there is a 12% restocking fee on returns.
Please note that we do not profit from the restocking fee. It simply reduces the costs associated with returns. We will not accept any returns or exchanges without an RMA # (return merchandise authorization). Please email us (please don't call, as we need to write you specific info/instructions) prior to shipping your item back. Any package without an RMA # will be refused.
We only accept items in its original condition (new with tags in original packaging), any item that has been worn, torn, damaged, missing pieces, or smells like cigarettes, perfume, body odors, etc. will be returned back & the client pays for the shipping.
Please note: Products starting with sku# JTD can not be returned, but can be exchanged for same style, different size only - within 7 days from the day the item was received.
4) Inventory / In Stock:
We do strive to make sure all of our dresses, suits, costumes, accessories, etc. are in stock. In case an item is out of stock we have the right to refund the customer if the item is not available within 10 business days. We will notify you immediately of an arrival date.
We will ship your item within 1 business day of your cleared payment and we'll email you a tracking number as well.
a. Shipping within the United States: We use FedEx & USPS for shipments within the United States.
b. International Shipping: We use USPS (United States Postal Service) for all international shipments (outside the United States of America).
Note: Please note that only USPS will ship to P.O. Boxes or Military Bases, not FedEx.

6) Sales Tax:
Only California residents are required to pay sales tax. If your package is being delievered within the state of California, you will notice that sales tax has been applied to your online order automatically.
We only accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, USPS Money Orders, & Cashier's Checks from Chase bank.
Note: Exception for International Orders; We do NOT accept credit cards orders from international customers outside of Canada, U.K. & Australia. For such clients we only accept PayPal. If you live within those 3 regions & your credit card billing address is different than your shipping address, then you must also use PayPal.
