Return/Exchange Policy

How long do I have to return an item?

We accept returns within a period of 21 days  from the day you receive your purchase. The return period ends on the 21st day after delivery, when you must send your return to our facility.

What are the return options?

You may choose between:

  • Store Credit: Full item value with no fees, valid for 1 year.

  • Refund to Original Payment Method:

  • For orders $400 and up (subtotal before discounts/taxes/shipping): refund minus 20% restocking fee

  • For orders $399 and below: full refund, no restocking fee.

Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Can I exchange my item?

Absolutely! Exchanges are:

  • Free of restocking fees

  • Eligible for a different size, color, or style

  • Final sale once processed (not eligible for further returns or exchanges)

Before ending your exchange process, verify your preferences twice.

Are sale items returnable?

  • Sale items are eligible for store credit or exchange only

  • Items purchased using store credit are final sale

What is your Good Faith Return Policy?

The return policy serves to support customers who make honest buying decisions. Bad faith or abusive returns may be subject to either store credit only or a 20% restocking fee that does not depend on the order amount.

Examples include:

  • Buying the same dress in multiple sizes (e.g., 8, 10, 12)

  • Ordering multiple dresses in similar styles/colors/sizes

  • Placing separate orders to work around return policies

How do I initiate a return?

  1. Contact info@formaldressshops.com to get a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number for your return process.

  2. Send the item through insured UPS® or FedEx® shipping while marking the RMA number on the package exterior.

  3. Returns without an RMA will be refused.

What condition must items be in?

All returned items must be:

  • In new, unworn condition

  • With original tags attached and in original packaging

  • Free from any damage, stains, odors, or alterations

The returned items that do not meet these requirements will be returned at your expense.

Will I pay sales tax?

  • No sales tax for orders shipped outside California

  • For California addresses, local sales tax applies
